Portraiture Practice

This time I did a portraiture of a friend (with her permission of course) Been making small adjustments for a while, but now it's time to move on to something else. It turned out better when i wasn't really thinking about the process or the structure, but when i was just putting values and overall shapes in. I'm not sure if that's how it works, but somehow it worked, and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

original picture is way better.. *laughter*

  1. Nice man. I like it. You did a great job capturing her face and her overall pose. Its funny how you said it was working better for you when you weren't thinking about technique because I'm going through a stage where I try to forget everything I learned about digital painting and just focus on my painting. I think there's a time where every artist must surrender himself to their creativity completly in order to enjoy the process. Keep Posting man. Love to see more of your work.

  2. thanks dude, i was trying to comment on your blog but it won't allow me. i'm not sure if you'll be reading this, but yea, i guess more you get used to painting with methods and process you don't have to think about it as much cuz it becomes natural. of course, i think in my case it was kind of a happy accident.. haha
