CDA - Environment Design : full color

after many failures on value paintings, then after many failures on color (bottom 2), finally came up with the one i'm moderately happy with (first top image).. still long way to go, but from what i've observed myself doing up until now--at work--i've been too precious. yes, in terms of details and what not, but i haven't fully taken advantage of the layers, and tried to paint in everything.. that was a very long process and often unnecessary one.

the first top image felt more of a success because i kept it loose and not tied in to details in the beginning. i wasn't afraid to change things up, paint over, etc. in the end, it help my mind to be more conscious of the overall look and keep the flow going. although, i'm seeing bits of area that i like in the failed ones, maybe i can incorporate them into the future paintings.

this is where it gets more interesting.
