Facing Fears

when i went to Cecil Kim's workshop on Red Engine Studios, one emphasis on his lecture was being "fearless." how we fear deadlines, failures, commitment to the work, etc. it reminded me of when i was reading Vagabond, how Musashi was afraid of Inshun after his defeat. in order to beat him Musashi had to face more defeats. i guess it's the same in my paintings where i have to just finish it whether it looks good or not. after countless of failures in presentations/colors/composition/silhouette/etc. i'm sure i'll get it right. until then i'm facing all the failures on the way.

i can still climb up..
